Islamic organisations use contactless card donation machines to raise funds at events, at mosques and online to boost their mission and provide supporters an easy way to give.
With fewer people carrying cash, it’s important that masajid and madaris have digital fundraising donation technology installed to give muslims an easy way to donate.
Funds are often raised for:
- Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah: Voluntary ongoing charity that benefits communities long-term, such as building schools, hospitals, and homes.
- Zakat: Compulsory donations given annually – given to the poor, needy and others from the eight categories. Often during Ramadan.
- Supporting orphans: Helping orphans and relatives.
- Supporting travellers: Helping travellers and refugees.
- Providing clean water: Providing clean water to families in crisis.
- Providing medical care: Providing life-saving medical care to those in need.
In Islam, any good word or deed is regarded as an act of charity, as well as giving monetary or non-monetary donations.
